Hi, I’m Heather Boughton

For over 15 years, I've guided nonprofit and public sector organizations in using data to drive change and increase impact. My passion lies in building cultures of learning within organizations, empowering them to use data to improve the lives of the people they serve.

Ready to turn data into action? Let’s talk.

This isn’t just work; it’s personal. As a first generation college student, I know the transformative power of public institutions and nonprofits. My 13 years at the Ohio Department of Education, culminating in leading the research and evaluation team, was driven by a deep belief in the value of public service and solidified my passion for helping organizations use data to drive meaningful change. Now, as the Director of Education Policy Implementation at Results for America, I leverage that experience, along with my Ph.D. in Sociology from The Ohio State University, and Fellowships with Harvard University’s Strategic Data Project and the Aspen Institute’s Coherence Lab to help state and local education leaders invest in evidence-based solutions that work for their students.

  • I value the relationships I build with my clients. My approach is grounded in trust, transparency, mutual respect, and a commitment to shared success.

  • I believe in open and honest communication, essential for successful collaboration. I prioritize client engagement and informed decision-making, and foster a safe space for empathic, respectful dialogue and problem-solving.

  • I am solutions-oriented. I collaborate with my clients to deeply understand their needs and develop practical strategies to achieve their specific goals.

  • I am committed to continuous learning and development, investing in expanding my knowledge and skills so I can deliver innovative, effective solutions and exceptional value to my clients. I embrace changes as a necessary part of the learning process.
